First, welcome to HOT Teasers! My name is Emma and I’ll be your host for today. 

 

I’m delighted to have you here and looking forward to finding out about your work, so without further ado, let’s get started! 

 

How did you become a writer? 

Thank you, Emma for having me here today. I started in the book business as a bookstore manager which was the perfect place for me since I was an avid reader. After two years, I moved to the corporate office as a buyer and eventually became a senior book buyer. This was a rewarding career that I loved. 

Along the way, I decided to become a stay home Mom. I couldn’t give up working around books altogether. I volunteered to run the book fairs in our small farm town, six per year. At the same time, I started and ran, A Child Oasis Company, with the sole purpose of placing a small book library in the homes of all the needy children in the nearby city. As my children became teens, I found I needed more in my personal life than the volunteer Mom for the schools. I sat down at the computer one day and Patrick, book one of the Risking Love series, was born. Book two, Nicolas is now available and receiving five star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. Joseph book three will be out this fall. My latest writing adventure is Dream Catcher which is a short story as part of the Mystic Desire Anthology.

I am lucky that I found my soul mate and married him. Like my characters, I am a firm believer in true love and love at first sight.

What’s today’s story about?  

Dream Catcher by Callie Carmen

Long ago a medicine man had made a matched set of dream catchers as a wedding gift to protect the Chief’s daughter and her warrior husband. He had called upon the benevolent spirits to keep the two soul mates safe and in a loving, healthy marriage. 

It was foretold that if the two dream catchers were ever divided the new owners would be drawn together as soul mates. Was that possible? 

 

Dream Catcher is a short story in the anthology, MYSTIC DESIRE:

The haze before me cleared, and I saw myself climb up a two-step ladder that

hung over the side of a dock. There was a woman in a blue and yellow polka dot

bikini lying on her stomach reading a book. I stood alongside her thigh and watched

with great interest the delicious vibrations of her butt cheeks each time she made

another thrust of her pelvis against the beach towel upon which she lay. I found

myself getting hard, even though I had just climbed out of the cold water.

I dared to take one step closer to see what she was reading that had that

beautiful body so heated. When I saw the title of the book at the top of one page and

my pen name on the other, I knew it was me, Jake Miller, filling her with a hungry

need. It made my shaft jolt.

I wanted to reach down, lift her into my arms, and kiss the need right out of

her. Droplets from my wet hair dripped onto her back and caused her to raise a bit

from her towel. Her reach back to wipe what she must have thought was sweat from

her own heated body gave me a perfect view of her naked left breast. I groaned at the

sight of her pink, erect nipple, which made her jump to a seated position and squeal.

The sound woke me from a deep sleep. My head lurched off my arm that lay

across my computer. I looked at the screen and saw a row of x’s spewed across the

romance story I was writing. I couldn’t believe I’d been dreaming. It all felt too real. I

recognized the Great Sacandaga Lake where I had just rented a cottage, but the reality

ended there.
